2008-2009 OFA Field Meet

A letter from our president:

Dear Okiehawkers,

On October 17th-19th, the Oklahoma Falconers Association will hold a field meet (our "Panhandle Bash") near Texoma at the Ranch of our very own Dave and Pam Stevens. This excellent location never fails to provide quarry. Jacks and rabbits are in great abundance. Pheasant slips are also widely available and small ponds dot the area. For those in search of passage hawks, it is difficult to find a better location than the Panhandle to do your trapping.

Last year was a great success, with everything from kestrels to golden eagles bringing game to bag, and several wild prairies and red-tails caught for trapping falconers. The hospitality of the Stevens' is impossible to beat; the good food, good flights, and good laughs will be remembered for a long time.

We're geared up to do it again!

Dave and Pam have kindly offered to put any attending Okiehawkers up at their ranch again on Friday the 17th and Saturday the 18th. However, there are also reasonable hotels in Guymon for those who would prefer to stay in town. 

If you plan to attend, it would be very helpful to either send an e-mail or phone me or ourPresident-elect, Chris Kimble, with your plans - in order to help Dave and Pam accommodate everyone.
